Yesterday I went shopping with my mom yesterday and we stopped at my favorite Used Book store. It’s a HUGE bookstore and the size of Barons and Noble. As I was walking towards a shelf to browse, a man in front of me slowed and turned around. He then pulled out a paper and said that he had just traded in several books, but didn’t live in the area. The paper was a store credit of “$8.93” and he gave it to me. I was tunned and before I could get out more than a “Thank you!” he was already quickly heading out the door. I stood there for a few seconds, stunned by the strangers kindness. I paid for my two books and then looked behind me to find someone to give the leftover $2 to. I found a woman with 3 kids and gave it to her.
It reminded me of something that happened years ago when my mom and I went to a cavern. A man gave us 6 free tickets and since it was just us we only used 2. Afterwards we gave 4 of the tickets to a woman with 5 kids running around. I remember how thankful she was and I know the tickets made her day (going to the caverns does cost around $7-8!)
Have you ever had a stranger give you a free ticket or coupon?
