On the one night we all decided to go to bed earlier than usual, it turned out to be one heck of a long night. The little dog, Athena, was barking ALL night long......I don't know what the problem was, but it was extremely annoying, to say the least. Athena belongs to the divorced guy to the East of us.
If that wasn't enough, about 3:00 someone comes pounding on our front door. Say whaaaat? We all woke up, went to the door, and here was the next door neighbor gal (on the other side of us) in tears, wanting to use the phone.....there had been a HUGE fight and one of the other people had thrown her cell phone against the wall, breaking it. She called her dad to come and get her. I guess it got pretty bad over there (these are the people we try to avoid).....this is the side of our house I'm planning to plant Pampas Grass as soon as the season starts, for a "privacy fence."
She finally left, and we went back to bed.......it was hard getting back to sleep....we were wondering if anything else was going to happen!!!!
Have you ever had "bad" nights like that?

city if you have a neighboring dog that barks for long periods you can call the police and the owner is ticketed for a nuisance dog. But that is not a good way to have friendly relations with your neighbors.
It is just beautiful outside today....in the 50s........we're going to go run errands pretty soon....gotta get some of that sun!
I hope you get some sleep tonight.
Perhaps with your cold winters and snow it will not grow as prolifically as it does here, just thought you'd like to be aware that's all. God bless.
Mind you, not everyone lives near the police station, so that doesn't always fly. However, I live in a building where we get the odd neighbour trying to kill eachother because of a drug deal gone bad, and a husband with PTSD and the ability to kill someone totally unarmed, thanks to Viet Nam training.
if I lived somewhere else, I'd let her in, but not here, if I was sleeping. I did help a neighbour, but I happened to be wide awake, so in a way, ready to handle something, but not from a deep sleep. Also, Walker was not here at the time.
Our main police station is down town, quite a ways from where we live......I wasn't the first one out of bed......hubby got up and got the door, then the kid was up, then me......I "held" Puddles by her collar. The woman was crying, so I guess we kinda felt like we needed to help her, as much as we could. Sure am glad that happening is a rarity, though!
